Close Combat deals damage but lowers the user’s Defense and Special Defense by one stage each after attacking. Stats can be lowered to a minimum of -6 stages each.
Close Combat is most likely to be more useful–unless you are facing a Special Sweeper. Another situation where Superpower could be more useful is on a mixed sweeper. Also Some Pokemon like Salamence have high Attack, yet can use Special moves too. If you used Superpower as your only physical move, you could get a lot of mileage out of it.
A very appealing move, but after using this move, the user is more easily startled. Close Combat (Japanese: インファイト Infight) is a damage-dealing Fighting-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is TR53 in Generation VIII .
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series In Explorers of Time, Darkness and Sky, Close Combat is a move with 43 base power, 80% accuracy, and 7 PP. The user attacks enemy in the front, lowering their own Defense and Special Defense by one stage each.
